Oct. 13 (UPI) — Legendary Florida State soccer coach Bobby Bowden is ready to be released from a Tallahassee, Fla., hospital on Wednesday after contracting the coronavirus greater than per week in the past.

Bowden, who turns 91 subsequent month, has been hospitalized for the previous eight days due to COVID-19. He examined adverse for the virus Monday, clearing the way in which for him to return dwelling.

“I’ve been blessed, actually,” Bowden advised the Tallahassee Democrat on Tuesday. “Individuals are dying from this.”

Bowden was transported by ambulance to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare on Oct. 6, simply days after testing optimistic for COVID-19. In accordance to the newspaper, his signs included fatigue, fever, lack of urge for food and a deep cough.

“No. 1 for me was a lack of urge for food. I did not need to eat something,” Bowden stated. “However now I’ve my starvation again and feeling fairly good. I can not wait to get dwelling and sit out within the sunshine.”

Bowden was released from the identical hospital and its rehab facility Oct. 1 after battling a leg an infection for about two weeks. The coach stated he probably contracted the virus whereas he was hospitalized for the an infection.

Bowden coached the Seminoles from 1976 via 2009. He ranks second on faculty soccer’s all-time wins record, trailing solely longtime Penn State head coach Joe Paterno.

The previous Florida State coach was inducted into the School Soccer Corridor of Fame in 2006.
