July 13 (UPI) — The Detroit Tigers gave veteran right-hander Zack Godley his unconditional release, the staff introduced Monday.

Tigers supervisor Ron Gardenhire advised reporters the transfer was made to offer the previous Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher an opportunity to signal with one other membership.

“I like the child. I used to be with him out in Arizona,” Gardenhire stated. “From what we noticed, it will take a while for him. However greater than the rest, we simply wished to offer him a chance to catch on with anyone else.”
